Getting a tattoo in the first place is a big lifestyle decision. The presenter of the programme, Katie Piper importantly points out that “Tattoos and the like can hold back your whole career and the thing is nowadays we’re seeing them almost as make-up, no big thing, but it’s permanent. I started having one of my tattoos removed by a guy in a tattooists about a year ago. It blistered up like a golf ball and after the blisters burst (I tried my hardest not to let this happen!) I was left with raw nerve endings showing and in extreme pain. I’ve been left with a painful and itchy keloid scar that I’m now having to go to the hospital for to get steroid injections. I went back to the guy who did this and he said it was normal!! And then even suggested I didn’t look after it properly! I have since been to a professional with all the right qualifications and she is disgusted at what they have done to me and said this should never have happened. After having treatment from her I know that what happened to me was their mistake and not mine. Her treatment is nothing compared to what there’s was. People need to be made aware of the non-professionals out there!

Hi Charlie. Sorry to hear about your experience, which what sounds like it was performed by an in-experienced laser technician. Unfortunately there are clinics out there with staff that don’t have the right qualifications or experience. We advise people to always research the clinic and the staff; do they have good reviews, do they have qualifications, can you physically see the certificates on the walls, and how experienced are they?

We’re happy to hear that you have found a well qualified laser technician and we hope that you’re remaining treatments get the results you are after. Thanks for dropping by to comment 🙂

In fact she wasn’t happy about this certain documentary, I haven’t seen it yet, but she said the girl was left pouring with blood saying that was normal and the therapist didn’t even use gloves!?
