Lauren kindly shared her PicoSure tattoo removal experience with us…

What was the reason for getting your tattoo in the first place?

I got my tattoo when I turned 18. I had wanted this tattoo for so long. Thinking back I’m not sure why as it had no meaning to me but I really liked it.

What was the reason for wanting your tattoo removed?

Even though I actually quite liked the tattoo I hated the placement. The tattoo was on my right hand side of lower stomach. I travel a lot and pretty much live in a bikini and hated seeing this tattoo looking so out of place.

And when did you first start to think about getting it removed?

Around 5 years after getting my tattoo and probably around 6 months before actually going through with it.

What attracted you to the PicoSure laser over other available removal treatments?

I liked the fact that the PicoSure laser would not leave you with a scar as this is what I was afraid of. It’s also meant to be a lot less painful.

What worries (if any) did you have prior to the treatment?

How painful it would be and if I would actually be removed fully by the end.

And how was your first treatment?

I was extremely nervous when I went for my first treatment but was put to ease by Andrea and Gemma. It was pretty painful which was expected but it’s over so fast. Andrea fully explained how to look after it after the treatment and gave me everything I needed to do this.

How comfortable did you find the laser treatment (the actual sensation from the laser) and what did it compare to?

I’m not going to lie it’s very uncomfortable but as my tattoo was not huge it was over pretty fast. Andrea would make sure I was comfortable before starting the treatment and I could ask her to stop at any given point. It feels like someone is constantly flicking an elastic band at your skin in the same place.

Were you satisfied with the results and would you recommend the PicoSure laser treatment to your friends?

I honestly couldn’t be happier. I’ve now had numerous treatments to remove this and can’t believe that it’s pretty much gone. Hopefully the rest will continue to fade after my final treatment and I will he left with pretty much nothing.

Any other thoughts, comments? (optional)

Although this can seem like an expensive treatment and it’s not the nicest of treatments I couldn’t recommend it enough for someone who is unhappy with a tattoo they have. For me that five minutes of pain has definitely been worth it and I couldn’t be happier with the results. Thank you Andrea and Gemma for sorting me out!
